The church, believed built over the remains of an ancient temple dedicated to Mars, was rebuilt several times during the centuries until it had reached its present appearance.

On the high altar, you can admire a Crucifix of 1703 by Filippo Zucchetti. Furthermore, the church conserves a canvas representing St. Anna by Agostino Carracci, donated by the notary Zeffiro Velli in 1626.
