HOTEL COLONNA ***

A few steps from the centre of Frascati, stands the palazzo in liberty style of the early ‘900: “Hotel Flora”. COUNTRY HOUSE ERBA REGINA

In the green hills of the Castelli Romani, rich in ancient villages, very close to Rome, the possibility of participating in activities in the company that produces, collects and transforms herbs and officinal and practice the cooking phytoalimurgica, but also know the wineries that enhance the territory, taste the rich gastronomy of the castles, do creative activities suitable for everyone in the open area.

Built in the 60’s by Mr Bruno, who had created the farm for his moments of leisure, compared to a hectic and full of responsibilities life, was given to us at the end of 2012, after sharing the common dream of making it a place of new sociality.

It has been renovated, trying to preserve all the characteristics: ceilings and wooden beams, the use of bricks, the tiles of the early twentieth century…

In the old barn was built the hall, the tea room and on the second floor 3 rooms overlooking the garden of simple.

In the tractor shed, the restaurant was built, keeping its original opening and closing it with a single window overlooking the garden.

The kitchen was built in the stable.

7 rooms have been built in the old porch, the feed room and the rabbit hutch. They all have external access from the garden.

The view

The farm of about 3 hectares is situated on the slopes of the volcano and in Lazio “Reti” hill, famous for the cultivation of good grapes, from which you can see part of the villages of the Roman castles (Frascati, Monte Porzio, Mount Compatri, Rocca Priora and Colonna), the ancient Tivoli and Soratte and the city of Rome.

As in the old Abazie, we have built a garden of about 4000 metres where you can see, smell and collect the main herbs and medicinal plants that we grow (about 70 species).

We have organized, together with other companies in the area and some operators, activities, even external, to enrich the holiday of experiences to share together.
