It started at the 12th mile of the Appian Way, along Lake Albano, and continued up to the Temple. Every year, the populations of the Latin League gathered here to celebrate the Feriae Latinae, a religious celebration dedicated to IuppiterLatiaris during which a white bull was sacrificed.
Today, you can follow a stretch of the path starting at Campi di Annibale by climbing a struggling path leading, among other things, to a particular terrace, commonly known as “occhialone”where you can admire Lake Albano and the Lake Nemi at the same time.
The width of the road, still intact in certain stretches, was 2,60 metres. On the outer road you can still see the “crepidines”, pavements in peperino stone.
