Palazzo Colonna

The Palace, designed upon the request of the Colonna family in 1480, is situated in the historical centre, opposite the church. In 1535, Marcantonio Colonna, hero of the Battle of Lepanto, was born here.

After the family's property had been confiscated, the Palace became property of the Carafa family and later purchased by the Cesarini family in 1564.

The Lombardo-Venetian style of the exterior gives the structure a modest appearance, which creates the setting for the piazza and the elegant 3rd century AD Roman sarcophagus, now used as fountain.

The Palace is private property and not open to the public.
